Wheel tabs and downtube

More pics from recent work on the bike project. Below you'll find pics of a hacked mountain bike frame from which I obtained a downtube and crankset. I fashioned brackets out of 2.5 inch hot rolled steel which will be bolted to the main boom of the bike. It will allow the crankset to be adjustable for short or tall riders.

Next came the wheel tabs, which took a lot of effort to drill through. 2 pieces of 1/4 inch steel forms each tab. All of this still needs to be welded.  The extra holes in the crankset tube were unexpected.  I'll have to fill it in with pieces of 1/8 inch plate.   It doesn't have to look perfect but it should be sealed tight.

More pics below the fold..
