George Monbiot had some publicity in Canada today, appearing on CBC radio from Toronto, and debating climate change with other thinkers. He also wrote a scathing piece in the Guardian about the Tar Sands and how our government has become corrupt, that we've become a "petro-state" and our reputation as polite nature-lovers has become blackened like a rescued duck from a tailings pond.
I don't know about the corrupt thing, but I agree with most of his points. The article is way over the top though, even for him.
