George Monbiot Bashes Canada over Tar Sands

George Monbiot had some publicity in Canada today, appearing on CBC radio from Toronto, and debating climate change with other thinkers.  He also wrote a scathing piece in the Guardian about the Tar Sands and how our government has become corrupt, that we've become a "petro-state" and our reputation as polite nature-lovers has become blackened like a rescued duck from a tailings pond.

I don't know about the corrupt thing, but I agree with most of his points.  The article is way over the top though, even for him.
